I think it is really important to be listening to music while getting dressed. I know for me depending on which song I choose, it pretty much dictates the outfit. Especially when a female singer is playing through my casio boombox which I got as a Christmas present in 1997. To “pump the bass” I have the click a button and yes, this does mean I still buy CDs.
There is something about putting a CD into a stereo. It’s a decision that cannot be readily changed. One needs to semi-commit because there is a process in stopping the CD, waiting for it to stop spinning, opening the lid, and then always blowing the dusties off the CD— that somehow appeared and CAREFully putting the CD back in the case sans scratches.
While growing up, I would dance while picking out an outfit (something I still do, but not as often since time as an adult is different than time as a child). Being careful not the kick my stereo in the process and bopping from the closet, to the mirror, closet, mirror, closet, mirror, stop to dance, mirror, then closet. All in all, this took 30 minutes and me running to the bus 2/5 times a week. But I never seemed to change my morning routine. Something about waking up and placing a CD into my boombox, closing the cover, and dancing - it’s like morning coffee as an adult - only not as good.
I still listen to music while getting dressed but mostly on Saturdays since during the week I wake up at 4:45am. I feel bad I have an alarm which usually wakes up my boyfriend first- I couldn’t imagine putting him through Britney Spears “Work Bitch” at 5am. But those Saturdays where music is apart of my “getting dressed” scene, I tend to like those outfits more. Have more of a connection to it. This Saturday I’ll be listening to Lorde while getting dressed- what about you?
Lorde. Pure Herion. 30 September 2013.
I think it is important for every lady to have a shoe like this in their closet. Not necessarily this exact style, but take inspiration in the beautifully crafted heel with bright red flower hue on top. It is dainty yet strong.
Inspiration on how to pair leather and fur.
For my upcoming trip to Moscow- I decided to look for inspiration-
